Motivating Others through Voices of Experience

Purpose

Youth M.O.V.E. Idaho is made up of teenagers who want to help people understand what it is like to be a youth affected by emotional, behavioral or mental health issues in Idaho. Their goal is to teach peers, parents, providers, and others about the importance of youth voice.

Our mission is to educate Idahoans about mental health through youth voice.

 

Opportunities:

  • Team up with the LETS program (Lets Erase The Stigma)
  • Support your peers through workshops, local activities, and mentoring
  • Develop your individual talents—learn to express yourself!
  • Create activities involving current and prospective policy and legislation
  • Share your opinions, thoughts, and feelings regarding various helping systems (i.e. Juvenile Justice, Schools, Health & Welfare, etc.)

Activities:

  • Attend monthly Trainings or Support Groups
  • Participate in Conference Calls and Webinars
  • Participate in Volunteer/ Community Service Projects
  • Educate Legislators
  • Participate in Mental Health Councils & Boards

  • Mastering the Art of Public Speaking
  • Community Engagement
  • Policy & Legislation
