Daybreak Canyon |
| |
Daybreak Canyon is a small owner operated residential treatment center located 40 miles south of Twin Falls, Idaho, 9 miles almost due east of Jackpot, right on the Nevada/Idaho State line. Daybreak Canyon is licensed by the State of Idaho for boys ages 12-17. We are a proud volunteer member of NATSAP.
Daybreak Canyon is the first Green Residential Treatment Center in the nation. Located on 160 scenic acres, this facility is completely off the grid. We generate our own electricity, and use 5 natural hot springs on the property for heat and other uses. At the facility the youth are actively involved in recycling, composting, gardening, and helping to plan, build, and implement further sustainable energy ideas. Daybreak Canyon makes and uses our own bio-fuel to use in vehicles and generators. We are in the process of developing other sustainable energy sources of wind, solar, geothermal, and hydroelectric.
Daybreak Canyon uses a holistic multi-systemic approach to treatment based in the belief in the 5 Pillars of Daybreak Canyon- Self, Family, Community, World, and Spirituality. Daybreak Canyon believes that these 5 Pillars define each of us as human beings. By focusing and developing stewardship in each of these areas, it is Daybreaks believe that it will lead to a healthy individual.
Off the grid and environmentally conscious, this facility offers a perfect setting for a youth to learn more about cause and effect. In everyday situations youth will learn how their decisions impact themselves, their families, the community, the world we live in.
